Find it at: Seaside Blvd, Moana

Seaside Park at Moana is another brand new play space opening right before the July school holidays. How lucky are we!

Located in the ‘Seaside at Moana’ estate, this fabulous brand spanking new playground is so good, the locals wanted to keep it their little secret! You can absolutely see why with the pics below. It is lacking a bit of shade at the moment, but that is to be expected in a new development and will no doubt improve as the freshly planted trees start to grow. We did also notice a lack of toilets which is hopefully something that can be added too very soon!

We love the space and room for the kids to run around, with a fantastic pirate ship and sand play for the little ones, plus some great climbing rope equipment. It really is suited to all ages with nature play and some water play too! Winning! Chuck in some slides, swings and bring the footy or a frisbee (great spot for a kite we reckon too…especially once the oval grass is established enough to be used properly!) and it is a great spot for the locals. There is some undercover shade, but not a lot sadly so pack a hat and suncream.

Plenty of off street parking too and although it isn’t fenced, being tucked away in a quiet development away from main roads, as well as being well set back from the street, it worked well for our little ones.

We would love to see some toilets (nearest we can think of are at Moana beach about 3 minutes away) and some BBQs too, but Bradley’s bakery is our recommendation for your nearby coffee fix but Moana esplanade is full of funky coffee options too!

  • Find it at: Hartley Road Flinders Park A nice little playground with enough equipment choice to keep the kids busy for a few minutes at least! It could do with a few extra features as it has no fence, no shade (apart from some nearby trees), no water fountains, no seating and no BBQ. The toilet is only at the nearby footy club, so if that is closed then you are out of luck too. But it does have a cool little wooden boat, a huge nest swing and a heap of regular swings (including one for the toddlers). A good spot for the locals and with the nearby oval, plenty of space for everyone to run around (sadly due to the lack of seating parents will also have to run around as well. Soz.) Hartley Road is fairly busy so keep a watchful eye on the kids at this one.

  • Find it at: Two Wells A brand new $1million dollar playground has just opened in Two Wells! Near the Eden Residential Estate, the new playground is another nature play themed play space and made from all natural materials. The park itself is quite small but there's lots of balancing logs and beams, climbing nets, a nest swing, and a great hill slide that little sliders will love. There's an undercover picnic area with BBQ, making this a great spot for a birthday party or picnic lunch. Currently no toilets or shade over the playground. • Find it at: Windebanks Road, Aberfoyle Park Its Aberfoyle Park's turn for a new Nature themed playground! There’s been some controversy around the newly re-vamped Thalassa Park Playground in Aberfoyle Park.  Many residents to the area haven’t been impressed by the new nature themed playground, feeling that a lot has been missed in the $320,000 improvements.  Being locals we had to go and check it out for ourselves and here’s our findings. Its the ideal family park Compared to the old playground my two little park lovers, and I, think that the upgrade is simply fantastic and we all give it two thumbs up! The new and contemporary equipment includes a timber climbing structure with netting, a basket swing, a large enclosed embankment slide and a shaded big bird platform with a double slide and rope nest.  There’s wooden seating areas for the adults to watch their little ones play (if they let you sit down and relax that is!) All set out in a spacious setting. The lack of the flying fox and swing set was a slight disappointment, more so for the older kids, and the metal slides did worry me with our Adelaide heat. But all-in-all it…
