Find it at: Woodside Road, Nairne

yethorne Park is a beautiful Adelaide Hills playground located on Woodside Road in Nairne AND it’s just had a great little upgrade that includes a new nature play area and a beautiful great big grassy kick around area.

The new nature play elements blend beautifully with the existing equipment that includes a climbing spiders web, flying fox, drums, bouncers and lots of interesting play equipment for the kids to discover.

The park features a lovely duck filled lake in the centre. Make sure you know the rules about feeding ducks though. The playground is really well maintained and has a covered BBQ area that is close by, so the kids can play while you cook.

Its a beautiful spot for a BBQ, picnic or just a new spot to take the kids for a good run around in the park. Fab wide open spaces and lots of fresh air, which the hills is so good for! Well worth the drive. The locals tell us there are regular fishing comps held in the lake so check out the Kids in Adelaide Facebook page for info on upcoming events.

It’s also a popular spot for Rock Drops so keep your eyes peeled!

Stop in at Pallett Cafe, one of our top 10 Babyccino cafes for a coffee. It’s only a couple of minutes from the park.

  • Find it at: Mount Barker Road, Stirling Nestled away in the beautiful Adelaide Hills suburb of Stirling, one of the first things you see upon exiting the freeway is the Stirling Steamroller Park. The park is fully fenced and is split into two areas, one for smaller children with baby swings, a mini slide, cubby house, balancing beams and rockers. There is also a great big tree perfect for climbing in, and exploring The other more suited to the bigger kids with an elevated boardwalk connecting 2 cubbies with a slide at one end. There are also swings, slides, a climbing wall and of course the feature of the park, the Steam Roller. Outside of the playground area is a larger grassy area where you will find a free bbq and beautiful rotunda to sit under. Stirling is a gorgeous little town (yes ok, we all went to school here so we MAY be slightly biased), only 20 or so minutes from the city, and the main street has some fantastic boutique shopping and coffee shops. Coffee tip. Take a drive just up the main road from the playground and drop into Stirling Cellars & Patisserie for a great coffee…

  • Image credit: City of Playford This park is part of a nature reserve, with a small playground that includes a slide, spinner, swings and some cool climbing/balancing equipment Image credit: City of Playford It's a great area for a run around, kick of the ball or somewhere you can sit with the dog (on leash) while the kids have a play Image credit: City of Playford There's not many facilities around though, a bench seat and a rubbish bin is about it. No toilets or shade Thanks to Amy for this playground review 36 Seavington Road, Elizabeth Park[wpgmza id="138" cat="1" marker="559" zoom="16"]

  • Find it at: George Street, Parkside A nice little set up, with a heap of Pros but a few Cons too. Parking was a nightmare, a little side street not far from Greenhill Road was a tough parking challenge, but once you stop it is quite nice what they have done with the space. Fully fenced which is fab! The area has been fenced off into a large playground space and an open grassed section for sports, dogs etc. The playground is also fully shaded and has seating, with a nearby water fountain also very handy. The play equipment is great for the younger primary kids, a really nice big piece of equipment with a slide and lots of climbing apparatus. No toilets at this one sadly, but a great little 'pop in for 10 minutes' playground.
